Drainage holes and missing bricks around Los Angeles have received a bit of a facelift thanks to a recent street art project.

Street artist Paige Smith set out to install glittering, hidden treasures all over Los Angeles to encourage city dwellers to go spelunking. Each of the pieces represent a faux geode, crystal or quartz. Smith has even created a Google Map guide on her website for locating all nine of the installations.

The Guy Who Touched Russia. Literally.

Such a cool video...thought you guys on Pinterest might enjoy this little bit by Cody White:

My name’s Cody White and I have always dreamed of visiting Russia. Setting foot in the country, however, was not enough: I wanted to experience Russia in a different way. So, I decided to set out to Moscow and… touch Russia.

From borsch to babushkas, White poked Russian people, places and things–and recorded it all.

The comedic video was a stunt by Russia Beyond the Headlines (RBTH), a branch of Russian state-owned newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta. RBTH recently released an iPad app that makes selected stories, photos and videos of modern Russia accessible to a larger, more modern audience.
